Raquel Aoki is a Sr. Machine Learning Researcher at RBC Borealis. She works with a wide range of Machine Learning methodologies applied to financial applications. One of her research interests is to explore more Causal ML, which includes, but not limited to, adopting causal methodologies to improve machine Learning applications, counterfactual explanations, and out-of-distribution generalization.
Raquel received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Simon Fraser University. She worked under supervision of Professor Martin Ester on the topic of Causal Inference for Computational Biology applications. Prior to that, she completed her M.S. n Computer Science and her B.S. in Statistics at The Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil.
